How many times have you heard parents say the following, when commenting about a children's disco party, they had booked, or their child went to?

1.  " I had to phone round in panic because the DJ didn't turn up. I should have known better, I thought I would save a few pounds by booking someone cheaper than everyone else!"

2.  " I was getting very worried , the DJ didn't arrive until 5 minutes before the party then spent ages setting up equipment while the kids were getting bored " 

3.  " It was quite obvious the DJ was inexperienced, and lacking any confidence entertaining kids, he just stood there and hardly said a word throughout the party. The few times he spoke you couldn't make out a word he was saying!

4.  " The sound quality was appalling, he must have bought his equipment from a car boot sale!"

5.  " I couldn't believe it, he just turned up with a clapped out home stereo, no lights, no bubbles, no smoke machine and no microphone!"

6.  " The so called children's DJ hadn't a clue about appropriate music, some of it had explicit lyrics, he played nothing the children wanted to hear!"

7.  " The children just ran riot throughout the party, it was a nightmare!"  

8.  " The DJ was extremely rude to some children, he often used offensive language over the microphone, it was disgusting!"

9.  " The DJ didn't play any games or do any competitions with the children, I expected him to know what he was doing and be able to handle the situation. I wish I had paid a few pounds more and booked a professional children's entertainer!"

10.  " The DJ started packing up before he was due to finish!"

TO AVOID THE ABOVE

1.  Beware of disco websites who have just about every city and town listed on their website, or say they cover the UK. This may look impressive, however, in reality it  is just a ploy.

2.  Beware of being quoted silly low prices.

3.  Beware of websites with only a mobile phone number.

It is always these outfits who let people down, either by:

A.  Not turning up     

B.  Sending some young guy or part timer, who does not have a clue how to conduct a children's party, and will go anywhere for a few pounds.

Rogue outfits will quote low prices just to get your booking, then leave you high and dry when something else, better paying, comes along. One of the many excuses they say is 'sorry we are double booked'.  

Unfortunately like other trades - Builders, Plumbers, Roofers, Car Dealers etc; we have 'Cowboys' in the disco business. Some have be brought to account on TV's Watchdog and Rogue Traders programes. A fancy website is no guarantee of professionalism or trust.  

We receive numerous phone calls every week from frantic parents who have been let down. Unlike many others we do not take bookings and pass them on to anyone who will do it.
